About Me
More than a writer
I am a storyteller.
My priority as a professional writer is to craft informational stories that educate and inform. As a designer, I shape multimodal stories to create a design that evokes emotion and shares a greater meaning. I design information based on the audience's need, whether it's social media, a website, a flyer, or a short story. This is why I call myself a storyteller, not just a writer.
My degrees in Writing and Digital Studies combine to make me an excellent storyteller in multi-modal formats with experience in professional writing, project management, technical writing, user experience, print and website design, as well as developmental editing and copyediting. As the eLearning Training Coordinator for Cretsinger Care Homes, I apply my skills to create updated, engaging, and user-friendly training. Outside of my career, I pursue writing excellence to sharpen my craft. I had the honor to serve as the President of the Organization for Professional Writers and published multiple articles to a blog during that time. My dedication to my craft has also earned me the Writing and Leadership Scholarship and the Outstanding Writing Student Award for 2023.
Although I am proficient in many writing disciplines, my passion is web design and user experience. From usability testing to designing an entire website from scratch, I love to take ideas from their conception to a fully fleshed project. More importantly, I love to make these projects accessible and usable. We need to create human-centered spaces that are not only usable but also user-friendly, and I strive to uphold this ideal by conducting usability testing and designing for the user. My digital literacy makes me a writer and designer with the critical thinking to understand when technology is a tool and when it fails users.
As a storyteller, I utilize my writing and design talents to empathize with users and create systems that understand and empower them.
